The 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Company G
Monument Project

Allatoona Pass Monument Dedication The 28th Georgia / 123rd New York Volunteer Infantry reenacting unit is in the process of erecting a monument to honor the original veterans Company G or the 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry who were recruited from Gordon County during the Civil War. The monument will be placed at the new Fort Wayne Civil War Historic Site in Resaca, Georgia. The monument, similar to the monuments shown in the photo to the right that were erected at Allatoona Pass State Historic Site, will cost approximately $9,000.

The following rough images show the proposed front and back of the monument, excluding the base, etc.
