Gods and Generals
Ted Turner Pictures donated $500,000 to battlefield preservation!
Even though the motion picture Gods and Generals was a financial disappointment at the box office, Ted Turner Pictures still donated $500,000 to battlefield preservation for the use of all of the unpaid, volunteer reenactors in the film. A portion of this money was used in Georgia to buy and preserve historic battlefield acreage at Resaca, Allatoona Pass, and at the new Nash Farm battlefield park near Lovejoy.
