Adams, John M. -- Private - Enlisted June 22, 1863 at Springplace, Georgia by Capt. Adams. Roll for December 31, 1863, last on file, shows him present. He was at the Jackson General Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on April 30, 1864. He was admitted to the Stuart Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on June 7, 1864 for "vulnus sclopeticum" (gun shot wound without regard to severity). He was transferred on June 7, 1864 to the Jackson Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and admitted on June 8, 1864 with a "minnie ball wound to the thigh." He was furloughed on June 16, 1864 for 30 days. An October 31, 1864 receipt shows him receiving clothing at the Hood Hospital in Cuthbert, Georgia. Hospital muster rolls submitted by Joe Ferguson, a descendant.
